Take a bike ride in Provence, France

Next September we’re taking a bike ride through scenic Provence. Would you like to join us?

We’ll be based in our favorite French town, Vaison-la-Romaine, in a fun hotel overlooking the town plaza. Each day we’ll head out to explore the countryside that is carpeted in grape vines and olive trees. With tour leader Ron Salerno and our Gravel e-Bikes, we’ll be sure to have a good time. And when we’re not riding, we’ll eat some great French food and perhaps sample some local Côtes du Rhône wine.

This trip is of course open to everyone and we’re coordinating it with an artist workshop in case some people wish to ride while their partners, siblings, or friends improve their painting skills. The dates of these two trips in September 2026 are the same and we’ll be staying in one hotel.

The town of Vaison contains a medieval city, the remains of a major roman town, and a new commercial center. By new we mean buildings that are no older than 200 years. Our hotel has a large terrace where we can eat breakfast or sip a refreshment after a day cycling. And on Tuesdays, the streets below are filled with one of the best markets in the area.

This trip is rated Intermediate, which means it will be somewhat more challenging than our cycling trip in Croatia next year. But this is still recreational biking. We’ll be on e-Bikes following backroads, both paved and gravel. We won’t be swooping down rocky mountain sides on single-track trails.

Here are links to this Provence Bike Trip, the corresponding Painting Workshop with Leslie Jorgensen, and our Croatia Cycling Trip.

These are nice times of the year to be out riding or painting.
