Learn about Irish culture, history, folklore and more
A trip to Ireland has been scheduled together with the OSHER group at Boise State University. With the trip not yet full, we are opening it up to everyone. All can now join us on this tour.
The tour is based in the town of Dingle in western-most Ireland. We led a tour in Dingle last May and we loved the town. The countryside is lovely. And the cliffs and beaches are dramatic. It is truly a lovely place.
And the focus of this new trip is equally engaging. In the hands of a charming local guide, we will learn a great deal about the Irish, their culture and history, folklore, music, fishing, farming, and more. A lesson in Gaelic will help us take a step even further into the culture.
It’s hard for me to explain how much I love this part of Ireland. We have traveled with this same guide before and he is not just knowledgeable; he is also inspiring. He loves his native Ireland and he shares his enthusiasm far and wide.
Personally, I especially enjoyed all the live, traditional Irish music at the pubs in the evening. There’s music every night.
